The Local Governance Committee of Hall Mead School is accountable in law and the Academy’s Articles of Association. It is responsible for the conduct of the school and for promoting high standards of education within a safe environment.
The three core functions of the Local Governance Committee are to:
- Set the strategic direction for the school, by establishing a vision, aims and objectives for the school, agreeing the priorities, policies and targets for the school to achieve these aims and objectives.
- Support and challenge the school, by monitoring and reviewing the work of the school, reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of the policy framework and evaluating its own effectiveness.
- Be accountable to students, parents and staff, by ensuring the proper and effective us of the school’s resources, responding to Ofsted reports as necessary, holding the Headteacher to account for the performance of the school, making information available and consulting as appropriate.

Matt Dronfield (Chair of Governors)
Our guiding principles—Excellence, Equality, Respect, and Challenge—are not just words but actions that shape our daily lives. Whether it’s through achieving academic heights or fostering an ethos of kindness and consideration, we live these values every day.
From meeting with our head prefects to attending school productions and trips, I am continuously impressed by the vibrant sense of community that defines Hall Mead. Our dedicated staff, dynamic leadership team, and above all, our wonderful students make this a place of inspiration and aspiration.
Whether you’re a current member of our Hall Mead family or considering becoming one, we invite you to join us in making this school exceptional for every student.
