Sports News

Here you will find updates relating to the sporting achievements of our pupils, results of inter-house competitions and details of clubs and practices.

Swimming Gala Result

After a close fought battle between the houses, Dickens emerged as victors of the swimming pool by just ONE point! It was a great event with pupils doing a brilliant job as competitors, timekeepers and spectators. This year, the standard was very impressive and literally every single point counted.
Well done to all involved.

Year 10 Rounders

On Tuesday 12th June, the Year 10 pupils went to Emerson Park for the Havering Rounders Tournament. They had a difficult pool with schools to play but managed to get through to the semi-final as the pool runner up to play Marshalls Park.

It was a well fought game and the scores were so tight, but with the last hit of the game from Lily we managed to win by half a rounder to go through to the final against Coopers.

Having already played them in the pool and losing by only half a rounder we knew we were in with a chance. But unfortunately, the best team one on the night. The girls played well and should be very proud of themselves!

Under 16 Girls Football Final

The final was played at Aveley Football Club new stadium in very hot conditions. Despite the teams excellent performance and efforts, they unfortunately lost 4-1; Chloe scoring the only goal for Hall Mead.

The girls have made great progress since their first year as a team at Hall Mead School and the Year 11 girls have played their last game for the school but should be very proud of their team’s performance.

Under 13 Girls Football Team

The girls took part in the Premier League Girls tournament at Woodlands School, were they competed against 9 other teams across the Premier League girls competition, finishing 3rd overall.

Strong performances by a young group of girls, who will form the school Under 14’s football team next year.

Girls Cricket

Well done to all the girls who took part in the Chance to Shine competitions, run by Essex Cricket.

Once again the girls had a fantastic day of cricket with plenty of wickets and runs scored. The U13 side finished 5th, narrowly missing out of the 4th spot by one run! The U15 girls finished 7th.

We now look forward to our Essex Cup fixtures over the coming weeks. Good luck to all the girls in the squads.

Kit Sponsorship

At Hall Mead School, we pride ourselves on giving our pupils the chance to be involved in a variety of sporting opportunities; and provide them with the platform to represent the school in our sports teams across Havering, but also in recent years of success, in the county as well as nationally.

Due to the kind generosity of the parents and friends of Hall Mead, we have been lucky enough to receive sponsorship for new kits for all our sports teams.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Kafeel Khan (Costa), Mr and Mrs Barnes, Mr Martin Rooney (One4all), Mr Gary Carr (Excel Physiotherapy), Mrs Salena Hobson (NTA), Mr Mark Healy, Mr Gary Richards (C & C Contractors), for their kind support and generosity and feel the pupils will really benefit from the new uniform for their matches and will better represent Hall Mead in their sporting successes to come.
